"Castanea" is the last of the fruit of a tradition which dates back to the Middle Ages, at the time of the Longobard domination over San Zeno di Montagna. It is a beer which is deep rooted in the territory and strong in taste and is made also with other local ingredients to create a beverage made with autochthonous raw materials.
Slightly amber scented, produced with Marrons P.D.O., this is a niche product, where the art of the master brewer has reached the highest levels both at National and International level. With a low fermentation, the scent of the marron is never dwarfed by the scents of yeast.
Chestnut beer is a seasonal product which is available only in some firms that are members of the Consortium.

La Birra di Marrone di San Zeno D.O.P. "Castanea" nasce radicata nel territorio e forte nel gusto, e oltre al marrone vede altri ingredienti impiegati allo scopo di creare una bevanda figlia della lavorazione di materie prime autoctone.

Questa è una Birra di stagione, lievemente ambrata, prodotta con Marroni D.O.P. è un prodotto di nicchia, dove l'arte del mastro birraio ha saputo raggiungere livelli assoluti nel panorama italiano e mondiale. A bassa fermentazione, dove il marrone non si lascia sovrastare dai profumi del lievito.

Il Marrone di San Zeno si può trovare in vendita durante il periodo autunnale nelle aziende dei produttori o alla Festa del Marrone in piazza a San Zeno di Montagna, mentre la Birra Castanea si può trovare solo in alcune aziende socie del Consorzio:
